About

THE ARTIST

Mr Terance Chua, born in 1956, graduated from Nayang Academy of Fine Art, Singapore, in 1979. Later, he spent four years of study in Osaka Art College, Japan, to further his passion in art.

He is an artist & designer, with over 20 years of experience in advertising. He devoted many years of study in the history & behaviour of Koi (carp) fish. And finally in 2009, he perfected the art of replicating super realistic Koi. It can be as small as a baby Koi of 10cm or over 100cm champion/competition-grade Koi.

THE MAKING

Each sculpture is carefully hand-crafted to be as realistic as the real Koi. The smallest can be as small as a 10cm baby Koi. The biggest he crafted so far is a 100cm Tancho. The most difficult process, is to wait for those really great quality champion / competition-grade Koi for him to reference the details such as size, shape, texture, behaviour, fins.  (If you wish to "preserved" you favourie Koi, can contact us immediately.)
He uses top quality acrylic paint & vanish to create the perfect colour that brings the sculptures to LIFE.
